International Tea Day!
Today’s International Tea Day! Take some time to sip on that famed herbal beverage with pride. Do you have a favorite tea? Mine’s definitely green tea. Although, I’ve recently fallen in love with organic raspberry.
A Brief History:
Initially, the day was founded back on December 15, 2005 in New Delhi, India when a conference was held there. It was created to raise awareness for tea workers so that they have proper pay and viable working conditions. And now it’s being observed in a multitude of other countries.
However, now it is being officially celebrated on May 21st. This makes a lot more sense than other months, considering that tea leaves do their best growing during this season, rather than the cold, winter months.
In celebration, I’ve curated a few of my favorite quotes about tea. Take a look below:
-
“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
― C.S. Lewis -
“A cup of tea would restore my normality."
― Douglas Adams -
“I say let the world go to hell, but I should always have my tea.”
― Fyodor Dostoevsky
-
“Surely a pretty woman never looks prettier than when making tea.”
― Mary Elizabeth Braddon
-
“But indeed I would rather have nothing but tea.”
― Jane Austen

If you’re not into tea, that’s cool. But I’m sure you know someone that is. Feel free to share with them then. Or take a leap and try something new.
